Sean Hughes aka Rumah first crossed my radar a couple of months ago after hearing his guest mix on Dalston internet radio station NTS. Since then I have witnessed him sporadically uploaded new tracks to his Soundcloud, each bettering the last. His productions are usually built around a four-to-the-floor referencing techno and house, coloured with with dark textures from across the UK spectrum. [Read more →]

Record Label Profle: Local Talk
12.04.12
Stockholm’s Local Talk label came to our attention a couple of months back after reviewing Wil Maddams latest release Cut and Cap. The collaboration by Mad Mats, a former break-dancing champion and founder of Sweden’s seminal home of electronic music Raw Fusion, and Tooli, whose highly acclaimed 24:hrs blog and parties made him a regular name on the Stockhlm nightlife circuit, was spawned out of their deep-rooted love for all things ‘house’. With releases from Andreas Saag, Fulbert and Deymare, we caught up with Mats and Tooli to ask them what all the fuss is about. [Read more →]
Dusky Interview – Inhabit Mix 016
01.04.12
Anyone who creates music is likely to witness their outcome change sonically over time. Musicians Alfie Granger-Howell and Nick Harriman are no exception to this trend. The London based duo have been releasing house music together since 2009 under their Solarity guise. Over time their sound has morphed exploring a different sonic world; there are less connections with traditional peak-time/big room dance music, and more correlations with deeper house and techno. With this change of sound came a needed change of identity for the duo. Dusky was born. [Read more →]

Teebs x Rhythm Factory x Red Bull Curates
06.03.12
Many know Mtendere Mandowa, aka Teebs, for his lush beat tapestries and experimental workings released through LA’s Brainfeeder label, but few know that the man behind the beats is also the man behind the art. As a long-time purveyor of the arts, Teebs conjures up visual explosions of colour, hybrid collages and hazy overtones that go hand-in-hand with his aural experiments. Which makes it a great pleasure to announce that Teebs will be reimagining his work on the surfaces of the front bar of the Rhythm Factory along with some limited individual prints, in association with Red Bull Curates. Introducing: Mokona
22.02.12
Few producers outside the Night Slugs camp are ever championed by Bok Bok. Mokona is one of them. Describing the music that he makes, however, is something of an uphill battle. Calling it “bass music” is something of a cop out, as his music isn’t purely focused on low end. “Oh, the genre thing haha. I like to overly simplify things by saying “electronic music”, usually that satisfies people. In reality though, to me it’s a bit of “wot do u call it”. I don’t really feel like I belong to a certain genre.” [Read more →]
